Offering a traditional aesthetic to compliment its Heritage range, the new aluminium door and screening system from the TWR Group is perfect for internal commercial and residential spaces…
From architects to homeowners, the industrial, steel look remains a splendidly timeless interior style. Born more than 40 years ago when property developers and architects began converting industrial buildings into modern homes, it’s an aesthetic that effortlessly adds that character to any space.
As more and more industrial buildings are being converted, the theme has increased in popularity to keep as much of that look as possible – and it show no signs of slowing down.
The steel look of aluminium has seen the material prove popular in achieving that industrial aesthetic, with Smart Systems Heritage range particularly popular.
Despite being an exterior system, Heritage products are widely used internally, and, as good as it is, it’s designed for exterior doors and comes with several features not needed for interior doors, windows or screens, including double glazing, a thermal break, seals and brushes for sealing and weather performance, no options for sliding or pivot doors and multi-point locking and limited handle options.
And this is where its AluSpace dedicated interior screening system from the TWR Group really stands out. The extremely well-designed interior heritage, steel-look and industrially styled aluminium system transforms rooms with internal hinged, sliding and pivot doors and matching screens.
Effectively dividing internal spaces and creating highly attractive screens and doors in this sought-after style, AluSpace can be used to separate residential or commercial spaces of any shape and size, while at the same time providing an effective acoustic barrier.
Perfect for commercial environments, offices, homes and old industrial buildings that are being converted into apartments to keep that traditional steel, industrial aesthetic, AluSpace’s sleek and elegant lines also let light flow from room to room.
An elegant and slim design style
AluSpace comes with slim profiles and with a choice of hinged single and double doors, as well as pivot and sliding options to accompany the fixed glazed screen. Options also extend to include visible hinges or concealed pivot or sliding mechanisms, making it a hugely versatile and flexible system.
The hinged doors come in single or double doors, opening in or out and with matching side or top panels, with a minimum width of 400mm, maximum width of 900mm and maximum height of 2200mm.
Sliding doors provide the option to close or partially open the internal screen, with a choice of a contemporary or vintage rail option to echo the overall design, and have a minimum width of 400mm, maximum width of 1200mm and maximum height of 2500mm.
The pivot door uses a top and bottom pivot where the door is hinged slightly off-centre from the side frame, providing the flexibility to instantly change the way the internal space is configured and is available up to two metres wide and with standard or soft close options.
AluSpace fixed screens give architects and interior designers the opportunity to elegantly partition living or working spaces.
Exceptional finishing touches
All three door types come with a thicker plate behind the handles for an authentic steel look, while the hinged and pivot doors have handles and the sliding doors have a recessed flush pull handle.
AluSpace also comes with a wide range of accessories, supplied in matching or complementary colour, including a choice of classic, modern and industrial handles and all can be supplied in a matched, contrasting or complementary colour to the screen and doors.
The predominantly single glazed system, with glass available in 6mm, 8mm and 18mm thicknesses, comes with laminated or toughened safety glass as standard.
As AluSpace is an internal system, it requires minimal maintenance while its lack of exposure to the elements should mean many years of great looks and assured, reliable performance.
TWR Group Director Laura Richardson comments: “As AluSpace is a specially designed internal version of Smart’s Heritage range, it delivers attractive aesthetics and fantastic value.
“And it means we can offer the best of both to our customers, AluSpace for internal and Heritage for external. Thanks to the similar styling, AluSpace is an excellent complementary system for anyone getting the exterior range.
“AluSpace is also easy to install, so when you put everything together it is a great addition to our portfolio and should be a big hit with our customers. It really is the perfect screening solution.
